So Let's Discuss this.

There's an octogenarian on the high court hanging on by a toenail. He doesn't want to be there, but stays for love of country. He knows what voice will replace his.

Meanwhile, scorched earth is Hillary Clinton's path to victory. Clinton must character-annihilate Barack Obama, at the same time actually change the math of the primaries (which, for better or worse, IS possible to do). There are murmurings that, with eyes not just on 2008 but 2012, her strategy is tenable, even desirable.

If Barack Obama wins the nomination (barring his annihilation ), things could at least "work out" democratically. But how well does November work out when almost half of the party still wants Hillary Clinton? ...and after she has done John McCain's dirty work?

So. A dilemma. Between Barack and Hillary, all things are NOT equal. But... the wisdom of this mantra applies equally to both:

For the sake of the party, the country, and the courts: End the self-interest. Focus on November.
